Knitting Pattern: Rainier Hats Bundle | Mosaic Knitting | Newborn - Adult Sizing

$12.00
The Rainier Hats {just like the Mount Rainier Cowl} were inspired by the sub-alpine wildflowers of Paradise Valley. The wildflower meadows in late July-early August radiate every color in the spectrum. The geometrical architecture of the hats are inspired by Mount Adams (typically in the backdrop of the iconic images taken in this meadow). The lines and color offer up an opportunity to explore and experiment with your knitting. I hope you enjoy it!

The Rainier Hats are a 4 pattern collection of mosaic textured hats.
• The hats are all constructed from the bottom to the top.
• Worked on circular needles.
• The patterns are written for worsted weight yarn.
• Includes suggestions for measurements.
• Mosaic knitting {Complete instructions for Mosaic Knitting are included}.
• Four charts are used in the knitting of the hat(s).
• A section is included for designing your own Rainier Hat.

GAUGE:
Gauge for the hats is 20 stitches and 27 rounds over 4 in/10cm using US 7 needle size {5 stitches/inch}. *Please note: gauge is after blocking and reflects mosaic knitting.

NEEDLES:
US Size 5 [3.75 mm] 16” circular needle for cast on
US Size 7 [4.5 mm] 16” circular needle for knitting
A set of DPN’s in US Size 7 [4.5 mm]

Size needed to obtain gauge. If your number of stitches and rows per inch doesn't match the pattern, the size of your finished product will be different from the pattern! There is no average knitter. Everyone knits a little differently; some people knit loosely, while some knit very tightly (it shouldn't surprise you that gauge is also referred to as tension). Knit a swatch and adjust your needles accordingly!

The hats are worked in series of 20 or 40 stitch repeats. Casting on in any other increment will result in an unbalanced pattern in each of the chart sections.

To add to the circumference, you will need to cast on additionally in increments of 20 or 40 stitches (the charts that you are using will dictate the increments). Or, you can use a larger size circular needle.
To add to the height of the hat, choose the gradual crown shaping option instead of the quick bind off crown shaping option.

NOTIONS:
Stitch markers, Tapestry needle, Gauge ruler, Measuring tape, Calculator
