Wintertide Hats
The Wintertide Hats are a 4 pattern collection of textured hats inspired by the Wintertide Yoke Pullover Sweater (released, October 2020). Working with simple rhythmic slips, yarn overs, knits + purls, these four hats are also reversible!

Pattern Overview
• Each hat is constructed from bottom to top, worked using your preferred tools for small circumference knitting in the round.
• These patterns are written for bulky weight yarn and include measurements {after blocking} for each individual section in case you alter the pattern.
• 4 main tuck stitches are used: knit stitch + slip stitch, purling + yarn overs!
• 4 charts are used in the knitting of the pattern sections. Both written and charted instructions are included.

Sizing + Yardage
The hats utilize stitch patterns of 6, 4 and 2 stitch repeats. The hats are designed to be worn between 2 inches/5 cm of negative ease to zero ease, depending on your desired fit.
Each hat includes 9 to 10 sizes, ranging from:

Preemie, 1-2 lbs., 50-110 yds/45.5-100 m
Preemie, to 4 lbs., 50-110 yds/45.5-100 m
Preemie, to 6 lbs., 50-110 yds/45.5-100 m
Newborn, 100-150 yds/91-136.5 m
6 months, 100-150 yds/91-136.5 m
12 months, 100-150 yds/91-136.5 m
Child/Teen, 100-180 yds/91-164 m
Adult Small, 120-200 yds/109-182 m (hats 1+2 only, not available in hats 3 + 4)
Adult, 120-200 yds/109-182 m

Woolfolk Luft Yarn
Luft translates to ‘air’, and that perfectly describes this yarn from Woolfolk! Luft is made with an organic cotton chainette that’s been filled with the softest merino wool, creating a light and warm chunky to bulky weight yarn that is perfect for cozy accessories of all kinds.
YARDAGE 109 yards / 100 meters / 50 gram

Needles + Gauge
Each of the four hats will use between one + three of the needle sizes to knit depending on your gauge: US 9-11 / 5.5-8 mm. Use the needle size you need to achieve gauge.
• 16 in/40 cm circulars or dpns for the brim.
• 16 in/40 cm circulars or dpns for the main body.
• DPN’s for the crown shaping.

Gauge
Hat 1: 3 sts/in (2.54 cm) over 4 rows
Hat 2: 3 sts/in (2.54 cm) over 8 rows.
Hat 3: 3 sts/in (2.54 cm) over 6.6 rows.
Hat 4: 2.5 sts/in (2.54 cm) over 3.75 rows.
Knit a swatch and adjust your needles accordingly!
